Why do I design.

Truthfully, I just like making cool designs. But for a more deeper meaning, I took my Graphic Design more seriously to reach out to those in need of help or support. A medium sized portion of my designs were heavily directed to those in danger of self-harm, suicide, or mental breakdowns. Although I still design in respect of trying to allow those to relate or open up a bit more, my designs today aren’t as direct in terms of suicidal awareness.

My ultimate goal as a Graphic Designer is to obtain a financially stable Salary as a Graphic Designer that can support my partner and I. I originally attempted that journey through means of freelance work on Fiverr, Etsy, and in general commission emails. Although, freelance ultimately was not for me as I mostly worked Client designs rather than being paid for my own designs. Not that I minded doing designs for others, I definitely learned a lot about Design and how to treat clients.

I did not go to College, as money was and considerably still is a large issue for me. Not to mention the amount of time it would take to obtain a degree in my field, it did not seem optimal for me personally. The only design classes I’ve taken was Graphic Design 1 & 2 in high school, and recently a Design Fundamentals course through Coursera- provided with an official Certificate for that course.
